That said, if you have questions specifically related to scheduling your home inspection, you’ve come to the right place.
Q: Do I need to be present for my home inspection?
A: Shield Home Inspections does not require buyers, sellers, or agents to be present at any point in time, and during the pandemic, we encourage everyone to follow social distancing guidelines. That said, if you would like to be present, rest assured that our inspectors wear protective gloves and masks, and be advised that they will forgo any contact that requires them to be closer than the CDC advised 6-feet.
Q: What are the chances my inspector is sick?
A: As close to 0 as we can get it. Rest assured that an inspector would not conduct a home inspections if he or she began the day with a high temperature, reports or is observed repeatedly coughing and sneezing, or reports/is observed having close contact with an individual who tests positive for COVID-19 or any other contagious illness.
Q: My children are not in school and I intend to be present for my inspection. Can I bring them with me?
A: Parents may bring children with them to inspections if necessary, but it is the responsibility of the parent to ensure children follow social distancing guidelines with the inspector. We have immunocompromised associates on our team and must put their safety first.
Q: I want to schedule my inspection for a later date due to the pandemic. Can you accommodate that?
A: Absolutely! Shield Homes Inspections does not charge for rescheduling, however, for inspections further than 30 days out will require a non-refundable $50 deposit and are first come first serve. We will reschedule as many times as needed with no additional charge, and the $50 deposit will be deducted from the final inspection price.
